TCU has announced its leadership succession plan as the university progresses to its
next phase of growth and excellence. On behalf of the TCU Board of Trustees, Chair
Kit T. Moncrief has shared that Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr., has formalized
his plans to transition to chancellor emeritus effective June 1, 2025, and TCU President
Daniel W. Pullin has been tapped as his successor.
The Board of Trustees is set to ratify the chancellor succession plan at the spring
2025 meeting of the Board. The plan was set into motion with discussion of the chancellor/president
leadership succession in 2020. The hiring of Pullin as president in 2022 set forth
the succession plan, allowing for Boschini and Pullin to work side by side for the
past two years in preparation for the leadership transition.
Boschini and the Board created a leadership succession plan that is unique in higher
education and ensures a continuation of the mission, vision and values that have helped
TCU become one of the premier universities in the country.
鈥淭CU is an incredible place and deserves an incredible leader to take us into the
next years of student-centered growth, academic excellence and impact,鈥 Boschini said.
鈥淎fter working closely with him for the past two years, Daniel is uniquely poised
to build on the positive momentum we have created here at TCU. He is an inspiring
leader with a big vision and his unbounded energy makes him a force of nature. His
care for our community, our values and our students is evident and informs his every
decision.鈥
As chancellor emeritus, Boschini will maintain a presence on campus and office in
The Harrison, fulfilling his duties of friend-raising, fundraising and enrollment.
As is tradition for many TCU leaders,鈥 Boschini鈥痺ill also continue to teach students
in the classroom.
鈥淭CU is defined by our stated values and focus on leadership, as evidenced by this
leadership transition plan. Our approach is uniquely TCU 鈥 it allows us to continue
to forge forward with a chancellor at the helm, plus continue to draw upon the decades
of experience and deep relationships that Victor Boschini offers as chancellor emeritus,鈥
Pullin said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an honor to work alongside Victor and this team of leaders who
care so much for the TCU community of Horned Frog students, faculty, staff, alumni,
fans and friends. Whether it鈥檚 through personal conversations, connections made between
alumni and students, or the personalized academic experience at TCU, we know that
community drives our success and enables us to achieve more together than we could
ever imagine.鈥
Moncrief said the Board is excited about TCU鈥檚 future.
鈥淒aniel is the very rare leader who is both wildly optimistic and optimally prepared
when faced with the complex issues we are seeing in higher education,鈥 Moncrief said.
鈥淚 saw his leadership in action as he led the university鈥檚 strategic planning efforts
this last year. His innovative and collaborative approach has helped craft a vision
for TCU we can all support.鈥
Prior to serving as president and spearheading the collaborative development of鈥TCU鈥檚 new strategic plan LEAD ON: Values in Action鈥痶his past year, Pullin was the John V. Roach Dean of the TCU Neeley School of Business
and a professor of entrepreneurship and innovation. He doesn鈥檛 just teach the class;
his world view and decisions are shaped by innovative thinking and entrepreneurial
approaches.
鈥淔rom the very first moment I stepped onto campus seven years ago, I thought, 鈥楾his
place is special,鈥欌 Pullin said. 鈥淎s dean of Neeley and now as president, I鈥檝e said
that same thing every day. I鈥檝e been inspired by the thoughtful and intelligent students
in my classes, by my generous and bright colleagues as we collaborate on projects
large and small, and by our community coming together and collaborating on our shared
vision for what comes next.
鈥淎s TCU grows into this next frontier, I鈥檓 indebted to what Victor has built and inspired
and by what I know is possible for this great university. Our goals are to compete
on the highest levels of academics, athletics and research, all while maintaining
the very aspects of the TCU community and student experience that drew me to this
campus years ago.鈥
Boschini鈥檚 tenure as chancellor is defined by a legacy of growth, community, inclusion
and excellence. His vision is apparent in the beauty and cohesion of TCU鈥檚 campus,
built to serve the collegiate learning and living environment. During his tenure,
Boschini and his leadership team doubled the number of TCU students, oversaw incredible
athletic success and redefined the student-centered experience.
